the date is not the time.
that makes sense, because the time is most certainly not the date.
i mean, who would ever think that?
well, i can answer that question for you: i thought that
yep, way back in the year -0001, i was very very confused when the clock struck 00:00 on the final day of the year.
at that moment, the date WAS the time.

now, i was in europe at the time.
anyone on a twelve hour clock had to wait until the year 0100, but that date did descend upon them, and they too got to experience the ellusive date-time date.

although...... now that i think about it, there are actually quite a few date-time dates.
i mean, the next date-time alignment happened in the first minute of the year back in 0001, and in the second minute of 0002.
it's sort of a 60-years-on, 40-years-off situation.

fun fact: when the year 2359 is reached, time actually rolls over and we start counting from -2359.
now won't that be something....
actually, north america already had this happen.
their time rolled over back in 1159, and now they're ringing in the year -0295!

today, scientists are currently racing to devise a system that will allow for time to continue up to the year 4759.
they have absolutely no clue how to do it, but let's hope that they figure it out soon.
if the time rolls over, progress on a solution will unfortunately begin to move backwards until 0000.
at that point, a loop is established that will continue for all of eternity.

now the real question is.... is this the first go-around of the loop where we decide what happens, or are we stuck repeating what our past, stupid selves already did?
